    really I'm not that familiar with austin but it should be the same info for most places. personally message some people on "AirBnB". look up some nice "couchsurfing" places. look on craigslist for people renting a room and see if you can work out a deal for a month. if you need more outside the box tips let me know

    AirBnB.com - people put extra rooms or guest houses up for rent. My wife and I had a great experience with it when we'd do a weekend in town. The people on there from Austin are really into it.

    I'd second Airbnb. It's very popular here in Austin and many people offer discounts by the week or month. If you are coming in March or October when we have our big music festivals, book early.
