Hip Atlanta neighborhoods?

I have a few days to explore Atlanta, so what are some cool neighborhoods I should check out? I'm looking for an art and music scene with some great food places and fun bars. Any hotel recs or coffee shop suggestions would be appreciated too!

So many. Here we go. Inman Park, Virginia Highlands, Candler Park,Downtown Decatur, Little Five Points, Old Fourth Ward, Peters St SW, Westside (Howell Mill). Love Octane Coffee bar & lounge, Dancing Goats, Inman Perk Coffee. Make sure you get on the Beltline, you can walk a beautiful walk and stop off and look at quaint neighborhoods. The aforementioned neighbors are about as good as it gets. Enjoy, I love Seattle. From the Bay Area originally.

    Hi Talia,

Atlanta has some great neighborhoods to explore, and we love festivals! There's one practically every weekend somewhere around town: music, arts, food... you name it.

Atlanta is a large metro area with a freeway (I-285) around the perimeter that divides our city into two parts: 'ITP" is inside the perimeter, and "OTP" are the suburbs outside 1-285 freeway. LMK where you're staying and I can give more detailed advice.

Check out this article from Creative Loafing (CL = Seattle's The Stranger) on ITP 'hoods.

Oh, and never say 'Hotlanta'. Sure sign of a tourist.

    Glenn Hotel, Autograph Collection

Virginia Highland neighborhood is a must see!

Poor Calvin's for dinner! Calvin is there everyday cooking your food!

SOHO Atlanta Restaurant in Vinings for Tapas is a must. They do wine pairing for a great price.

A fun Bar is the Metro Cafe Diner It starts getting busy around 11 on Friday and Saturdays. Start the night off by going for a sunset and a cocktail at the Glenn Hotel, Autograph Collection You will pay 5 to park but worth it for the atmosphere and ambiance. Drink prices are great so don't worry about the 5 parking fee!

In Atlanta there are a few great coffee shops, check out Octane Coffee bar & lounge (the area around there is pretty cool too, known as West Midtown check out Westside Provisions District for great bars, restaurants, and shops) or their location in grant park Octane Coffee Bar at Grant Park. Another good go to for coffee is Java Monkey or Dancing Goats and the whole Decatur scene is pretty cool and walk-able
