Looking for resort for 50th birthday

A group of 10 girlfriends are looking for a fun spot to reconnect and celebrate our 50th birthdays. I'm wondering about Scottsdale, AZ, in particular, but would consider Sedona except that people are coming in from all over the country. i know places can get pricey, which is fine as long the experience is worth it.

Summer is a good time to come, yes it is hot, hot, hot, but that means that the resorts are now affordable. The prices go down to 99.00 a night for most of the nice resorts. A price you can't touch in winter. Also if you go n Groupon for Phoenix there are lots of deals, even Sedona has some deals. If you can take the heat a great time to come. · (0 likelikes)

Anything in Sedona will be well worth it! You have all types of activities in Sedona from outdoor adventure days, to ladies spa days. Shopping, dining, Pink Jeep Tours, Oak Creek Canyon, Oak Creek river side day, endless hiking/biking/off roading trails. I would HIGHLY recommend Sedona for a perfect mixture of relaxation and fun. Also, I wouldn't worry about the drive up from Phoenix. The drive is short and sweet - and TOTALLY worth it!

Hi Susan! The The Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale is wonderful. A big luxury resort with lagoon style pools nestled right into the side of Camelback Mountain . The location is close to the Scottsdale Fashion Square (you could spend ALL day there!) and Old Town Scottsdale which is a fantastic place to go for brunch/lunch/dinner/drinks! Make sure you check out the Rusty Spur Saloon -- it's a Western Style bar with live music and western two-stepping every night of the week. Also, Kierland Commons is a little downtown area with more great shopping.

I've also stayed at FireSky Resort & Spa for a girls trip and loved that too. The pool has a waterfall, but is not a lagoon. But it's a great boutique hotel with a smaller and more intimate feel.

    Have a blast in Scottsdale!
