    Hi Melvese-

I see you're in New York! I'm not sure how far you're looking to go, but Amtrak is currently offering 25% off the Northeast Region when booked 14 days in advance. This is valid all the way until 2016 as of now. (With a few blackout dates)
"Amtrak Saver Fares offer daily low prices on the Northeast Regional. Save 25% or more off the lowest available fares when you book 14 days in advance."

    Here's a link: http://www.amtrak.com/northeast-travel-by-train-discounts

They also have "Smart Fares" which is a weekly 25% off sale select routes.

    I hope this is helpful!

Hi Melvese, To get the best available fares and to secure your preferred travel dates and accommodations, you should try to make your reservations as far in advance of travel as possible. The earlier you book, the more likely you are to get the lowest fare available for any given itinerary. You may book your travel up to 11 months in advance. Hope this information would help you, Enjoy your journey.

If you are old (over 62) you also get a discount. Suggest you go to the Amtrak site and use their travel planner software. They will figure out the best fare for you. You just have to put in the answers the questions. Also you can search for the cheapest times of year to travel if your dates are flexibile. · (0 likelikes)
