was there on opening day. One of the most moving, disturbing days I've experienced.

I was breathless when walking along the wall....it was so quiet even with all the people there. Lots of crying and names being traced. I'll never ever forget that feeling of complete sadness in the pit of my stomach.

Visited names of friends I served with. Then went to the Peace Officers' Memorial and visited the name of my late brother.

Probably my favorite memorial ever. Very symbolic in so many ways. Uniquely designed and extremely powerful

DC is full of beautiful and moving buildings and memorials (don't miss FDR's) but this memorial makes it all very real
