spend a couple hours here. this is a historic building, in fact the only building over 4 stories tall that survived the 1906 earthquake. they have redone it into the coolest retail center in the country IMO. Tons of boutique stuff to smell, taste and drink. the wine merchant is a good chill spot and blue bottle coffee is the coolest hipster spend a couple hours here. this is a historic building, in fact the only building over 4 stories tall that survived the 1906 earthquake. they have redone it into the coolest retail center in the country IMO. Chi chi vendors with a ton of rich-folks food. The gelato joint is worth it, even at tourist prices

If you are there on a Saturday, then you MUST go because they have an amazing farmers market too!

Ferry Building is a must- especially for Saturday's Farmers Market- where you can pick up some fresh food, including meat, fruit, veggies, bread and there's a bunch of cute foodie places tucked in here. There's a great gelateria, Ciao Bella, which maybe too cold to enjoy in November but, you can order an affogato which is espresso poured over Ferry Building is a must- especially for Saturday's Farmers Market- where you can pick up some fresh food, including meat, fruit, veggies, bread and there's a bunch of cute foodie places tucked in here. Hah, I'm not a big coffee person, but that affogato sounds too awesome to not try.

Good restaurants, as I'm sure you know. Slanted Door is excellent. And the farmer's market has great food (tues, thurs, sat). If you dig the swine, get some chicharrones from 4505 meats. Not my thing but i'm told they are great.

ooh, my fave! be sure to hit Miette -- crazy charming and delish boutique bakery. I love the pariasian macaroons, but I know you're not a macaroon fan -- so try the chocolate eclairs. to die for!

If you go there, look up Thomas Hawk. He works in the building and is a great photographer, and can show you around.

Take the Ferry between Ferry Building downtown and Sausalito. In Sausaltio you have Le Garage, Sushi Ran, Heath Ceramics. In Ferry Building there are ton of great restaurants and artisanal food stalls (meats, cheeses, breads, coffee, etc)

They have some nice eating choices on the water side. They also have a farmer's market on the weekends. You can take the ferry over to Sausalito for a day trip. We saw Steve Perry (who lives in Sausalito) formerly of Journey, eating at the restaurant on the pier for Sunday brunch.

It may be super touristy here, but I still love it. Pro tip: team up with friends and grab bread at Acme, cheese at Cowgirl Creamery, salami and/or pate at Boccalone, and wine at Wine Merchant, then go to the back of the building and picnic on the benches overlooking the water and bridge.
