i'm not sure why, but i end up here almost every time i'm in Manhattan. This is down in SoHo and the food is good and the scene is lively. very small tables (standard nyc).

The closest New York comes to a Parisian baguette or croissant. Delicious!

Might be my favorite place in the whole city. You could swear this place has been here for a century, but it's only been here since 1997. Getting a table can be a bear, but the food is worth it. Great spot for celebrity sighting, too.

Was a disappointment for me. Went there for lunch, but maybe living in Italy, I couldn't taste anything of their typical American food.

The turkey and avocado sandwich is the best item on the menu.
