A quick ferry ride away is the island of Murano, well know for its glass. You can wander into many show rooms and a few glass blowing studios. Worth the trip. Note the pin on the map is not correct. It's NE of the main island cluster.

My favorite museum in Venice. Don't miss the horse and rider statue in the courtyard overlooking the canal. Buy the audio and punch in the numbers of the paintings or statues that interest you. Great stories.
