I'm not sure what charity this place benefits but I'm also not sure I care. The prices here are excellent and the furniture in particular is fantastic. My only complaint is that they seem to close at odd times, even if it's just to go get lunch. Good spot to pop in for a drink if you're in the area, for sure. If you're downtown in Tribeca or the Meatpacking district, the views from the top of the St. James or the Standard are probably better (but more of a scene).
when it's warm, this is a nice mid-town spot for a drink... it has a nice rooftop patio on the top of the peninsula hotel on 5th & 55th. it's a little stiff (this is at the peninsula hotel) but still good on a nice day.
my wife and i spent 3 nights in monterosso at manuels guest house. it was awesome. the town is filled with interesting people, lots of great food and an after-hours candy shop doubling as the local late-night hangout!
My fascination began just outside the cathedral as there were people dressed as angels and the like. Highly recommend a guided tour of this UNESCO World Heritage site. This will not only give you information mere headphones miss, but access to areas sometimes off limits.
This outstanding archaeological area contains such magnificent monuments as the Temples of Ramses II at Abu Simbel and the Sanctuary of Isis at Philae, which were saved from the rising waters of the Nile thanks to the International Campaign launched by UNESCO, in 1960 to 1980. Mala Strana is a very historic region of Prague. It's name actually translates to "Lesser Town" but there is tons to see here including beautiful examples of Baroque architecture.
