Incredible vision of finding peace & a sense of calm in the midst of one of the regions most powerful waterfalls. These waterfalls go up to 40 meters in size.
In addition to the igloo rooms... this place claims to have the world largest smoke sauna (nice!) and traditional Lapp tent restaurants (not sure what that is but sounds intriguing). They also boast a Santa's Village.
Obviously you'll have to time it right, but if you're up for it, this place makes for a great destination wedding! They even have a chapel here that's been blessed by the local parish. Given the changing nature of the hotel, however, don't expect it to look exactly the same from year to year.
Like climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro or seeing over 100 countries, it's become a bit of a feather in the cap of "serious" travelers to stand on this rock and have their picture taken. Obviously this guy considers himself a serious traveler!
Hard to imagine going for the photo op here, but if you're one of those people you're probably willing to do a little BASE jumping too. Get your kicks soon though, it is rumored it will soon be illegal.
I highly recommend taking one of these cruises. I did so on my first visit to Amsterdam. When traveling solo (or otherwise) I like to get the "lay of the land/water" early in my trip so on the boat ended up meeting terrific people who I later met for art excursions, etc. and it was true travel I highly recommend taking one of these cruises.
