I remember standing at one of the lookouts after walking to "the top" of the wall and thinking to myself, Wow, on one side is Mongolia and to the other is China and I literally felt as if I had the whole world to myself. It was truly awe-inspiring. Nothing like it.

I said, "Oh, I'm not feeling well and want to leave." She said, "Oh dear, just follow me." She led us to a HUGE door, opened it, and voila! We were in the crown jewels room.…see moresee less
quando è bel tempo è stupendo fare una passeggiata da Westminster, attraversare il Westminster Bridge (quindi arrivi davanti al London Eye) e costeggiare tutto il Tamigi fino ad arrivare alla Tate Modern, visitarla (dal settimo piano vedi un panorama stupendo) poi attraversare il Millennium Bridge quando è bel tempo è stupendo fare una passeggiata da Westminster, attraversare il Westminster Bridge (quindi arrivi davanti al London Eye) e costeggiare tutto il Tamigi fino ad arrivare alla Tate Modern, visitarla (dal settimo piano vedi un panorama stupendo) poi attraversare il Millennium Bridge ed arrivare fino alla St Paul's Cathedral.…see moresee less
LOVE the V & A! Going to hit it right away when I go this spring--really, really want to see the Cecil Beaton exhibit about the Queen! Great food in the restaurant as well as a lovely room in which to eat it by the way.
Interesting, but there are many sculptures located at the architectural masterpiece of the Hoover Dam. The sculptor Oskar J.W. Hansen said his intention was to be a representation of human ideals, much as he saw in the artistry of the work of the Hoover Dam.
I'm a big fan of carrying a good book written about the area I'm traveling in and read Hemingway's Death in the Afternoon while in Spain. I became enthralled with the literary rendering of the bullfight and it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience to visit one live. Arguably it is more beautiful from a distance lit up at night than it is in person - call me a philistine if you will, but from a rooftop bar with a Mythos in hand I found it more impressive!
