there is nothing like standing on the edge of a cliff so high that it doesn't even look real! as spectacular as it looks in photos you've seen, just wait till you see it in person!
Was here on a cross country road trip. After eight hours in the car we just sat at the edge at stared for over an hour in complete silence. The canyon itself is 277 miles long and 18 miles wide!
I remember riding on the back of a donkey on the way down the canyon saying, wow, this cannot be so incredible and wow, I hope this donkey actually knows what he's doing. Fantastic ride & worth every bit of soreness later!!
This Temple (altar) of Heaven was created by former Emperors to be a go to for prayers of good harvest. Interestingly, UNESCO deemed this a World Heritage site as it inspired much of the architecture and planning in the Far East.
beautiful artwork. one of those places where you just can't believe you are actually there. important to take the tour because there is so much amazing history to learn
These are the Petronas Twin Towers. The ground floor is one of Malaysia's best shopping destinations. Also, this photo has the vibe of a place you'd go to just to hand someone a metal briefcase.
Believe it or not these caves are somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 million years old. If you go, be careful of the monkeys that populate the area--they're notorious for taking things right out of the hands of visitors. Don't go to the main tourist area of the wall, get a ride either on your own or with a hostel to one of the more rundown areas and hike for hours along the wall. Careful though, it gets rough!
