Everyone seems to want to be in this town, beginning with the American Indians (4000 years) to the gold miners to the jazz singers (Ray Charles included) to the rockers (Nirvanna, Soundgarden). Perfect place to make your mark.
This is definitely on my list for my next trip to Seattle. Apparently they have a lot of demonstrations & mini-events with the farmers. Good excuse to find a hotel with your own kitchen!!
Nothing like standing in line for thirty minutes to drink cafe au lait and eat hot, fried dough by the humid riverbank. Makes me sweat just thinking about it. Much better to go in the winter, when hot snacks outdoors are a welcome treat.
I never got to do this the last trip..but I am intensely curious about it. The above ground cemeteries are so spooky and gothic, they lend themselves as a natural backdrop. I've seen a few episodes of Ghost hunters that were pretty compelling proof that New Orleans is quite haunted.
