Largest dome in the world. Sistine Chapel and Michelangelo too.

I climbed to the top of the dome-- endless steps in a spiral-- and used a disposable panoramic camera to take great shots over the city of Rome.

you can stand quietly and hear the lions roar.

Would love to go back though!!!

Gets PACKED during the day. So Charlotte and I went to this and Trevi fountain again at 4am to take some fun pictures and had all the time we wanted.

My daughter and I serendipitously found ourselves at the top of the Spanish Steps the night Spain won the World Cup. There must have been 10,000 people there!

The pantheon feels most special when you get to experience with few people around... There's no lines, but there are people here all the time so it's another one of the places that you might consider checking out early in the day...

Pisa, Italy

Even though I've been to italy I missed the leaning tower of pisa. Hope to make it back here to see in person. It's about an hour from Florence.

Stayed just around a (quiet) corner at the Hotel della Nacionale. Excellent location in an exellent hotel.

We thru our coins in so we HAVE to return !

I love Rome.

American Express Office near the Spanish Steps offers a good half day tour of the Roman ruins.

Next time I'm in Rome, I plan on spending more time exploring the Forum.
