Portsmouth is a regular on the lists of "Best Places to Live" and sits at the mouth of the Piscataqua River, a river that separates New Hampshire from Maine. An east coast "must" on my list.
This beauty is in the high country off Tioga Road and is very accessible. People that come to Yosemite and only see the Sequoia trees and The Valley are depriving themselves by not driving up Tioga Road. Fishing is good in this lake...caught many brookies and bows.
Believe it or not, some people get so wigged out by driving this bridge that they actually have drivers who will drive your car across for you! And you thought your drive to work was rough!
This volcano has an interesting connection to Hollywood. In 1929 it was almost dynamited by a film studio to create an avalanche for a scene in a movie. It was only because of the protests of local residents that it was protected.
So that photo is actually SP Crater, which is a few miles NW of Sunset Crater. Still very cool - and completely undeveloped. A perfect cinder cone - and you can hike to the top and into the crater, which you can't do at Sunset.

It's a relative newcomer to the NYC thrift shop scene but it's probably the best one in town. Carrying almost exclusively vintage items from clothing to furniture, this place prices everything very, very fairly, and you can pretty much always find a treasure here.
