The design of this arty but highly functional stadium were inspired by Chinese ceramics and it took 13 submissions from architects to arrive at this inspiring Bird's Nest. Artist Ai Weiwei oversaw the project.
One of the best hikes I did - and I don't like hiking. Take the "Skeleton Gorge" route from Stellenbosch at the back of the mountain. Spectacular view, especially at sunset.
