Lavendar is one of my favorite plants and it is everywhere in Provence. Next time I go I plan to drive instead of taking the train, heard the best time is mid-summer.
Don't go to the main tourist area of the wall, get a ride either on your own or with a hostel to one of the more rundown areas and hike for hours along the wall. Careful though, it gets rough!

One of the best hostels in Europe, if its still around is called 'the Kabul' - Its about 500m from the bottom of Las Rambas in a small square offshoot path. This was the best hostel for fun & meeting people! Highly recommend it!
Always feel like I'm coming home upon arriving on Maui. Love everything from Haleakala to the Road to Hana. My favorite elements of the island -- the residents and ample aloha.
