Can't wait to go to DC. I didn't go on my 8th grade class trip to DC thinking a lot of kids weren't going. The only two kids that didn't go were me a kid that used to eat his own fingernails.

Someone else recommended the TranzScenic (rail journey between Auckland and Wellington), but I'd also recommend the TranzAlpine, which goes between Christchurch and Greymouth, cutting through the Southern Alps. Said to be one of the best scenic rail journeys you can do in one day.
