Jim Thompson was an enigmatic person in Thai history. He worked as a CIA agent, build a business empire in Thailand by selling traditional Thai silk to foreigners and finally disappeared in the mountains in Malaysia never to be seen again.

This is a great spot. Maybe not the best for kids, but it's a nice place.

Wow! And I thought I was organized!!! This is the bird department at the Smithsonian National Natural History Museum. I wonder how they decide which birds to put out and which to keep in the drawers???

Just back from an Honor Flight trip. This is a beautiful monument.

This may be a little much with young kids, but it is a very interesting and fascinating museum for older kids and adults. You can put it on your wish list for a few years from now.

Another old stagecoach stop... if you end up going to Los Olivos/Solvang area and take the route over the pass, past Lake Cachuma, this is a little restaurant bar that is a cool place to stop for a drink if you're thirsty or hungry.

You can actually take tours of this glacier cave which I think sounds amazing. Not surprisingly, this is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
