There's been a lot of blaming Rick Steves for the increase in tourists on rue Cler, but frankly, I think it's because it's just a great street. One of the best things to do in Paris is visit the "Passages" which were essentially the shopping malls of the 19th century. Passage Jouffroy is one of my faves.
