If you want to learn to scuba dive, this is the place. I think I stayed in Sairee beach. Not the nicest of swimming beaches at all, but it won't matter if you are diving all day. There's something like 40+ dive shops on this island. Night time was fun with lots of bars and restaurants.
The beaches here are amazing-- if we did it again, we might have opted to stay on this island instead. do a combo snorkeling or kayak trip that takes you to both Koh Tao and Koh nang yuan in the same day. it was a great way to see both islands!
