one of my favorite travel memories was my mum feeding us 3 kiddos baguettes and nutella for lunch here ;) I guess we'd spent all the money on the Metro, lol :) It
best bread in paris. you can walk down rue bonaparte from the seine (great art stores), stop at pierre herme (best chocolate in paris) then take rue vaugirard to turn around toward the rue du cherche midi. rue madame is pretty cute and will take you there.

There's been a lot of blaming Rick Steves for the increase in tourists on rue Cler, but frankly, I think it's because it's just a great street. This is where a lot of the city's chefs come to buy their ingredients and you can see why. Fish stores, cheese stores, and the like abound. It's a museum about Paris and it's incredibly interesting with some of the best art in the city. Also, there's a room up at the top called something like the "Ballroom of Something or Other" that has to be seen to be believed.…see moresee less

I'll admit the views from here are great but you need to go with tour guide and it takes a while to get everybody up and then get everybody back down. Sounds weird, but this store has the best rooftop terrace with tremendous views of Paris; right next to Opera. And, there's food up there. Just ride the escalators all the way to the top.
This cathedral is absolutely breathtaking. Just be aware of the folks who may be trying to tie something around your hand while you're taking photos outside to "bless" you or something like that -- it'll cost ya!

Great people watching and always something going on. I believe the Baccarat showroom is here, too and they have a lovely restaurant.…see moresee less
Beautiful, but have sad memories of a lady sitting inside holding her deceased child and mourning. A scene not easily forgetton. Make sure you climb up to see the gargoyles up close.

There are dozens of these around town and are a great place to get a take away sandwich or desert (which is really their specialty). I love going to the one on the rue de Seine around the time work gets out for most people because Parisians come in with their dogs to get dinner for the night.
