Known as "Dragon Stadium" this incredible architectural feat runs on solar power and will eventually start selling the power it makes in the off-season. Interestingly, the architects also took Feng Shui principles into consideration when drafting the design.
This Temple (altar) of Heaven was created by former Emperors to be a go to for prayers of good harvest. Interestingly, UNESCO deemed this a World Heritage site as it inspired much of the architecture and planning in the Far East.
The design of this arty but highly functional stadium were inspired by Chinese ceramics and it took 13 submissions from architects to arrive at this inspiring Bird's Nest. Artist Ai Weiwei oversaw the project.
