We went to the Empire State Building late at night (maybe 11 or 11:30). We walked down after we saw Jersey Boys. It was perfect because there were no lines....but you could see all the ropes for the queues, and they went on forever!!
Amazing to think that the Regent paid for the construction of these buildings in the mid-1770s in part with a tax on the Colonies, including levies on things like tea. And in response, some guys in Boston took offense to that and threw a party.
