This is a GREAT hike and a must do in Hawaii. My favorite thing is to be there at sunrise, as there's nothing quite like it. Keep in mind it will be very cold, so take blankets from the hotel or bring a warm jacket. It can be in the 30's in the morning.

ditto the caves...if my photos from college were digital, i could send you some - pretty amazing! i'll add that on the opposite end of the caves, just below the crane beach resort, we did some cliff jumping...not for the faint of heart - the currents can be horrendous. i wouldn't recommend jumpingditto the caves...if my photos from college were digital, i could send you some - pretty amazing! i'll add that on the opposite end of the caves, just below the crane beach resort, we did some cliff jumping...not for the faint of heart - the currents can be horrendous. i wouldn't recommend jumping unless you're in kick a$$ shape - at the time i was swimming ~10kM/day...there were vacationers that had to be rescued- the currents both push you 'out' and push you 'in' to the rocks/cliff. check out these youtube vids - take note of him trying to swim in at the very end - he goes no where!: http://youtu.be/3d8I_sHx3rQ…see moresee less
