i think PH is the best value on the strip. not outrageous, but still a good location.

In front of the hotel on the strip, you'll find a dude playing an electric violin (street performer). The guy is our age, looks like he's a music student, really talented. Stopped Leezel and I in our tracks while we were walking. We listened to him for at least 10 minutes! Look out for him.

HI Olav, We stayed at the Excaliber in Vegas in August. It was great. Cheaper if you book online than when you get there. Watch for deals. We even got an upgrade when we got there. This is a hard place to land good deals, although it never hurts to check the hotel's Web site for specials: rates average $250 to $300 much of the year, but during slower weeks you can usually snag a room for around $170 to $180 (competitive in comparison with other high-end Strip properties).

My friend showed me her pictures of the lobby; amazing! All the interior is handmade glass (a whole garden made of giant glass plants etc.).

The curved offices are a little unsettling, but fun being curved and all. A friend used to work here. Good times.

For what is essentially a diner they actually have some really great food here. Unfortunately, because of where most Mel's are based it can either be a bit of a scene or a bit of a tourist scene, neither of which is my thing. That said, you should give it a go when you're in town.

Lots of fancy shops and a great place for dogs to hang out!
