Mesa Verde National Park is a U.S. National Park created in 1906 by President Theodore Roosevelt in order to protect some of the best-preserved cliff dwellings in the world. Inscribed in 1978, it is one of the 21 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the United States.
One of the greatest aesthetic playgrounds ever created, but sadly they don't allow skateboarding through the galleries. (THAT would be sooooo AWESOME if they did IMHO !!!)
Consider walking around the south side of the walls around the Vatican, seeing the relationship of the piazza to that area... There's not much north of the Vatican except a touristy shopping district...

It's a clothing optional beach, but being in San Francisco weather, most people opt to wear clothes anyway. It's a lovely beach with a really nice view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
