It pains me to say this because I love Bastille Day, but this is the LAST place you want to be for the celebrations. It can get really crazy and almost violent. Go see the fireworks at the Eiffel Tower instead. It's much more fun and much more beautiful. I think a better view of Paris from up here than the Eiffel Tower. :)

If you get there early enough (meaning while it's light out), make sure to go to 29 Ave. Rapp. It's a stunner of an art nouveau building.

Such and odd and eclectic mix of stuff.

I have a thing about museums stores because I think they're among the few places where you can pick up something totally unique. Nowhere is this more true than at the Design Museum.

Madame Tussauds - the ultimate tourist attraction. I wish they had more of the behind-the-scenes stuff. That was more interesting to me than just looking at figures.

1982 - the most compelling images there then was Sleeping Beauty and the Jack the Ripper alley. goose bumps and I still remember!

Always wanted to see this bookstore. Much of the design was inspired by Galeries Lafayette and you can really see the similarities.

One of the most beautiful bookstores in the world and certainly the most mesmorizing one in Portugal.

Some hiking will be on our agenda. This is the highest point in Portugal.

Great views and photo ops up here. worth it for sure.
