you can't visit florence without stopping by this huge open market. I recommend picking up some scarves-- they are super soft and cheap! If you get a chance, go inside to the food market and have the best cheese and bread of your life
Boudin's sourdough bread bowl of chowder. Lact-ovo vegetarioan friendly option tomato bisque, although croutons seem redundant in a bread bowl, they are crispy delicious.
I recommend we hit up the Diamond Head Lookout. There's a hike, but I think there's also just a general lookout trail that leads to the top of the crater and a lookout peak that has amazing views. I don't know which option we want to pick, but we should at least check this place out. :) (more here: I recommend we hit up the Diamond Head Lookout. Navigating the area around the fountain can be confusing...finding it, as if you were lost and unexpectedly came upon it is most satisfying... Maybe explore the area rather than explicitly planning on seeing it?
Stopping at the overlooks on both sides of the bridge is always fun and awe-inspiring! Then, drop down to Sausalito for a nice lunch on the Bay, gelato afterwards, and then onwards with the road trip...
Look up "Ranger Craig." Craig Glassner is a ranger on the island and he knows EVERYTHING about this very interesting national park. https://twitter.com/#!/rangercraig
It has the best views of the city. Take some time at the end of the tour and just hang out... watching the city, the birds, the wind in your face... very relaxing!
