Instead of going as a tourist, go when they're having mass or evensong or any other event. The singing there is magical, and you feel part of the place, the history.
Not only is this one of the most innovative stores in the city, it's one of the most innovative stores on the planet. Such an interesting place--it's as much museum as store.
The Cirque show "Iris" is amazing. All the wonders/theatrics of a terrific Cirque show; set against the classic glamorous hollywood back drop of 1940's (my interpretation)
Thanks JR. We are staying in Hermosa Beach, so we'll make sure to check those two spots out. I've got my fingers crossed for nice weather so we can enjoy the beach.
If you make it down to hermosa and the weather is nice, I'd say rent a beach cruiser and take a cruise up the Strand. Stop for a drink along the way Poop Deck (old school dive bar) in Hermosa, Simmzys (gastro pub) in Manhattan Beach are two strong choices. I'll add those too so you have them. cheapest pLace to ice skate. there's something surreal about ice skating in NYC. It can be quite romantic too. :) I ice skated in Central Park, but it's more expensive there. DON'T ice skate at Rockefeller, it's expensive AND the ice rink is tiny.
It was cool. When the restaurant turns around, you can find notes on the window seal with a crayon, so grab it and say hello to the curious kid who left it there for you!
The thing with the Great Barrier Reef is that you can only see how great it is from space. It is so big that you can’t even see the reef from the shore. It is an hour boat ride from the nearest port. That being said, once you get there it is pretty nice.
