It pains me to say this because I love Bastille Day, but this is the LAST place you want to be for the celebrations. It can get really crazy and almost violent. Go see the fireworks at the Eiffel Tower instead. It's much more fun and much more beautiful. The food hall here is must. It's really cool and a great place to grab lunch. Closest comparison would be the Ferry Building in SF, but more food to order/eat right there. You'll dig it.
Instead of going as a tourist, go when they're having mass or evensong or any other event. The singing there is magical, and you feel part of the place, the history.
