So to get here I decided to hump it. Got lost and walked up a mountain and descended into the back of the park. So tired but the view was gorgeous. I would get lost again if I could.
Sloane will dig all the sights and sounds, even at her age. We got Tatum an awesome hat there that she plays with to this day. Makes for great pics too.
Yes, but the dream can be a nightmare in August at 95 degrees and people cramming that beautiful hallway of art shoulder to shoulder. BY the way At that time of year once you get in, there s no way out so count on hours of human traffic jams and peering over shoulders to get a glimpse of art.

Take the Ferry between Ferry Building downtown and Sausalito. In Sausaltio you have Le Garage, Sushi Ran, Heath Ceramics. In Ferry Building there are ton of great restaurants and artisanal food stalls (meats, cheeses, breads, coffee, etc)
the grounds here are spectacular. Check with your hotel concierge before you head over though, to make sure the palace isn't closed in observance of one of the many holidays
