Definitely take some time to walk around the mall. It's quite large, but I'd recommend heading over in the direction of the capitol, or going over to the Lincoln Memorial and Vietnam Memorial area.
War Horse or Wicked would be my preference, but if nobody is interested in either of those, I could be talked into being dragged along to one of the others.
Houses the St Vitus Cathedral which in turn houses what is my favourite stained glass window. Also houses the Chapel of St. Wenceslas and the burial places of many Bohemian kings and Holy Roman Emperors. Fantastic example of Gothic architecture.

It pains me to say this because I love Bastille Day, but this is the LAST place you want to be for the celebrations. It can get really crazy and almost violent. Go see the fireworks at the Eiffel Tower instead. It's much more fun and much more beautiful. Better than the Louvre, in many people's opinion. The building is an old train station until a train plowed through the side of the building... true story.
Just a suggestion--this is a lot to cover in one day. The Tuileries won't take as long as something like the Catacombes or Pere-Lachaise and are right across the river. You might want to consider doing those in the same day.
