I had a chance to visit the White House during the Obama family's first Christmas. The rooms are surprisingly small.

Nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.

I love D.C. and all the wonderful monuments.

if it's not at the San Diego Zoo, it probably doesn't exist.

agreed with peter. don't take this zoo for granted. it craps on our LA zoo, no joke. don't sleep on this if you haven't been. pay for the sky ride/bus tour, it's worth it -- see animals while you hop from one side of the park to the next.

Heard a lady tourist ask, "How do they get all the flags (at the base of the monument) to go in the same direction?" Yes, really.

Definitely take some time to walk around the mall. It's quite large, but I'd recommend heading over in the direction of the capitol, or going over to the Lincoln Memorial and Vietnam Memorial area.
