You cannot imagine the beauty of this art deco masterpiece. So much is mint condition that you can almost see the little starlets running in to buy a dress for auditions. The details are incredible and while I hate the idea that it's no longer a Bullock's (I moved here just in time to see it close), I love that the school has made such efforts to maintain the building's integrity.

While it's a tad more than I, personally, would pay for a room (about $250), the Shangri-La is a nice splurge. So, so well located in Santa Monica, it's a sleek, art deco hotel with some really, really charming features and excellent service.
