Built on piles on the lake of Neuchâtel. This hotel is the only on water hotel in Europe. It's super nice and if you stay there you get to ride all the public transportation in town for free.

I love this because it looks like something out of an Ingmar Bergman film. The only overwater hotel in Europe, this is a five-star facility with a computer in every room. It also has gorgeous meeting facilities so if you're planning an off-site meeting, keep it in mind.

There are 392 overwater villas here so you've got a lot to choose from and they've got plenty to keep you occupied like stunt kite shows and something called "Monster Golf".

Among its many cool features, the W has the only underground nightclub in the Maldives as well as a bar with 95 different kinds of vodka. Cheers!

For those of you who will be using your own plane to fly here, the local airport is happy to welcome all guests of the Shangri-la. And no, I'm not kidding.

Not only is this place gorgeous but they have some really interesting activities like an open-air theater.

I'm not even 100% sure what rain showers are but they have them and I want one.

Bathrooms with beautiful views, coral planting class, and an extensive wine cellar make this an exceptionally wonderful place to stay.

This resort has a Turkish hammam in it and if you've never experienced one it's really amazing. Hope you like heat, though--hammams are usually blazing hot. You'll feel incredible afterwards!

This is the resort's "Sea.Fire.Salt.Sky." restaurant where they bake dishes on a Himalayan salt rock. If fish isn't your thing, they have a very varied menu.

If this doesn't impress you nothing will: the rooms here have infinity bathtubs for two.

If you're into cigars, they have a cigar bar here as well as 24-hour butlers.

At this resort the beds are overwater and the food is under it! I think it would freak me out a little to order fish here.

They've just had a renovation so everything is looking really sleek and new. For the adults there's a great pool bar and for the kids there's a Kid's Club. Actually maybe that's for the adults, too.

You know you've arrived when you can see the ocean through a window in the floor. Should you tire of this you can indulge in a game of petanque.

Tatt lovers take note: the Moorea Pearl Resort and Spa has a tattoo artist who does traditional Polynesian tattoos either in your room or in the resort tattoo studio.

While it's a "just the basics" kind of place, it's a great value for the money and offers all-inclusive packages that can really help you save.

I've heard so many great things! Would be a trip of a lifetime.

The amenities here are insane: Yves Delorme linens, access to the butlers pantry, and a mosquito control misting system!

This is a five-star, eco-friendly resort that fills up fast. Not super fancy, but a very good value.

All the bungalows here are overwater so take your pick. Also has a much cozier feel than a lot of other overwater places.

I can't believe how clear the water is

Big rooms, outdoor showers, butlers...I'm in! Also, an adults-only pool which is the greatest thing anyone ever came up with. I didn't like to swim with kids when I was one.

If you can't find me in the wine cellar, look for me at the infinity pool.

In addition to the stunning views and endless scenery, this resort has a treehouse restaurant.

Pretty much ever over water hotel in Bora Bora is on my bucket list. What a beautiful place.

Now THIS is room services! (And by the way, this is literally room service!)

It's not cheap but the rooms here are big and the service is incredible. There are also some beachfront suites here that are perfect for bigger families.

They have glass coffee tables that allow you to see right through to the ocean. Bet they're not big on coffee table books.

i've heard this is the ultimate honeymoon or second honeymoon trip. some of these huts are built right over the water. you can wake up in the morning, roll out of bed and literally go swimming.

This place is a big favorite of Kim Kardashian's. Not sure whether that's a reason to go or stay away.
