This is the kind of club that makes you want to be 100% positive you're up on your dues. Believe it or not this stunner of a club was actually once called "The Mess" before its name was changed to the much more apt "Pacific Club".
Interestingly this is both a hotel and a club that also happens to have reciprocal agreements with some other private clubs around the world, so if you belong to one you may want to check this out.
This club's roster of former members reads like a "Who's Who" of London society. H.G. Wells, Churchill, and Henry James are all among the club's alumni.
While the club is experiencing a bit of, ummm, upheaval at the moment (which is a nice way of saying scandal), it offers some really, really great programs and speakers, many of which are open to the general public.
