This is one of the most beautiful parts of London by far and where the whole city gathers to watch big events together on giant screens. A trip to London truly isn't complete without seeing it.
In a city full of wondrous places, this is among its best attractions. While it's lovely just about any time of year it's incredibly special in the fall.
The Duomo. When I would get lost walking home at night, I would get oriented by asking passers-by "Dove il Duomo?". That little bit of info always go me back on the right track. Should that have been: "Dove il Duomo è?"
If you want to go see this hotel and be very sophisticated, make a reservation for their tea service. Taking a tour and asking to go see the gym/spa and pool is worthwhile if you make it over here. The hotel is very unique and a landmark. Take the Ferry between Ferry Building downtown and Sausalito. In Sausaltio you have Le Garage, Sushi Ran, Heath Ceramics. In Ferry Building there are ton of great restaurants and artisanal food stalls (meats, cheeses, breads, coffee, etc)
Built in the shape of a fireman's hose as a memorial to firefighters from the 1906 earthquake. You can either drive or walk to the top of the hill then climb the tower.
We went to the Empire State Building late at night (maybe 11 or 11:30). We walked down after we saw Jersey Boys. It was perfect because there were no lines....but you could see all the ropes for the queues, and they went on forever!!
