Take Lake Tahoe and plop it in the middle of Napa Valley but add people from BC and you have the Oakanagan. Great diveristiy, food and wine... Also home to an Ironman, what's not to like?
Last trip to the desert, we played 4 different courses and SilverRock was my favorite for a couple reasons. First, there are no houses yet. It's built up next to mountains and feels very open and different than most desert courses. Second, the gps system in the golf carts what the best i've seen... it felt like you were playing golden tee and made the round very fun. Third, the course was fun! We played from the white tee's and by doing so it brought every water hazard and bunker into play so we really relied on the GPS system and strategized every shot. Made for a great round!…see moresee less
I am also a big fan of the winery and the family in general. They put a lot of effort into responsible farming practices. Make sure to ask them about Biodynamics and get a vineyard tour if you can.... Say hi to the Peacock for me.
Dude, this is sooo strong.. know what I love it that in 2 or 3 taps of my phone I am calling this place. Super easy. Jana - don't disregard the specials and by all means get the fries.... I am pretty sure they stole a page from Buchon and fry them in Duck Fat, which is the BOMB! I usually go Fish Taco's and Fries with a nice Sauvie Blanc!
I have tried to make it here several times but always got caught up with other plans... Vintage SF, I have been told this place is a ton of fun and maybe more Brew's style but it is a super hip Trannie (yes - transgender) bar with super hot peeps. JR, if you are up for a trek to Brooklyn check this place out. It is a total dive but this guy is the Godfather of Pizza. Read my review on Lunch.com. Bonus tip, there is a Subway stop steps away from DiFara's.
If you are acting your age and not throwing down like JR usually does on this weekend you'll dig this place.... Make sure to come back in the morning for Farmers Market and a great Sunday vibe.
Great family and very cool things happening at this winery. Take the vineyard tour if you have time and learn all about the sustainable practices the Benzingers employ.
This is definately the winemakers hangout in town. Located right on the Paso Robles downtown square this spanish inspired restaurant is killer. Check out the Not Nachos and Villa Creek Wines.
This winery sits up on a hill with 360 degree views of the Westside of Paso and I love their wines. Bonus tip: on the weekends they have Thomas Hill Organics on site making special salads and sandwiches for lunch. It was raining the day we went but on a nice day it would be killer to eat outside in the garden area.…see moresee less
