This is always our first stop in Maui because it's near the airport. Get the lava flow and bring your camera...there is a great beach outside the restaurant where you can take pictures.
This is up on the way to Kapalua. It's a weird place to find, because it's in a condo complex it feels like. There will be a line when you get there, but worth waiting it moves fast, but you'll be starving by the time you get to the front so you'll order the macadamia pancakes for sure. it's This is up on the way to Kapalua. Hard to find, hole in the wall cafe that always has a line stretching around the block. It's located in between the street and a condo complex so if you're trying to find the place and feel lost, you're headed in the right direction. The pancakes are really good. :)
hyatt is great and much sunnier than princeville. We stayed in princeville and loved it and will stay there again next time, but it has more rain than Poipu side of the island.
Great location for exploring the Ferry Building and the entire Embarcadero. If you can get a back corner table at Americano for a romantic dinner with your lady, it's outstanding. I suggest the pork chop if they still have it, and the servers know their wine recommendations.
this is my hotel of choice every time i'm in the city. It's close to some of my favorite spots... ferry building, yank sing, slanted door, and boulevard.
Good spot to pop in for a drink if you're in the area, for sure. If you're downtown in Tribeca or the Meatpacking district, the views from the top of the St. James or the Standard are probably better (but more of a "scene").
when it's warm, this is a nice mid-town spot for a drink... it has a nice rooftop patio on the top of the peninsula hotel on 5th & 55th. But this is at the Peninsula Hotel so it might be a little stiff for you and Dave to be throwing back a lot of whisky.
One of my all time favorite restaurants... Susan had this shipped in for my 40th bday. Go and do the whole program. Start with the Joe's tomatoes (actually my favorite item there), then the stone crab claws (i like

love it here. I eat here multiple times a week. Breakfast, lunch or dinner. Their dinner menu is bistro style, so you never know what will be on the menu... something new all the time. Love it!
