This incredible underground palace served as the setting for the Russian consulate in "From Russia With Love." Legends about the upside down position of the heads are numerous, although the prevailing "belief" is that Medusa's head is upside down to negate the powers of gorgons.
II've heard the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul is amazing. It was originally a church, later a mosque, and now a museum. It was first built by the Byzantines in the 6th century!
The artistic characteristics of this amazing rock town and village are reflective of its Byzantine art influence. It dates back to the 4th century and is one of 10 World Heritage Sites in Turkey!
This place used to be an Ottoman palace... but now for a few Euros (or Lira i think is more accurate)... you too can sleep like a sultan!! This place looks cool.
This place has a salt room which is one of my all time most favorite things in the world. It completely clears out your sinuses and leaves you feeling really refreshed. They also have a snow room if the heat from the hammam is getting to you. Apparently there's even enough to make snow balls!
