Great scene at this Lower East Side hotspot restaurant. Food is pretty good, but the cucumber gin and tonic is worth flying to NY for.

Good spot to pop in for a drink if you're in the area, for sure. If you're downtown in Tribeca or the Meatpacking district, the views from the top of the St. James or the Standard are probably better (but more of a "scene").

when it's warm, this is a nice mid-town spot for a drink... it has a nice rooftop patio on the top of the peninsula hotel on 5th & 55th.

My mother is the Norm Peterson of Balthazar--she may disown me if I try Pastis but I may have to take my chances! Thanks, Brew!

Sister restaurant to Balthazar located in the meatpacking district. Has a similar vibe and menu to Balthazar, although Balthazar is probably a little busier (during lunch for sure) and Balthazar's bakery and breakfast is better. Good spot to pop into or grab a bite in connection with a trip to theSister restaurant to Balthazar located in the meatpacking district. It would be a shame if you didn't eat here! Drunk, high or sober -- you will find all three in line. It's the best.

The best street food that I had in NYC while I was there for three days. The local people know it as 'chicken and rice' -- there's only one spot, and there is always a line. I wish we had something like this here in LA.

Cool downstairs bar/lounge with a modern rat pack-ish vibe.

Cool vibey, restaurant lounge in West Village. Great for a cocktail. Easy walk from Joseph Leonard. I've been told the food is pretty good, too.

I wouldn't necessarily stay here, but the view from the lounge/bar upstairs is incredible. No joke. Its a must if you're in the area. Go on the early side, because late night it gets filled up and is more clubby. Seriously, this is one of the coolest bars/views for a drink in town.

I wouldn't stay here, necessarily, bu the upstairs bar/lounge has one of the best views in NY. Its on my have to do list when in NY. If the weather is great, the views over the Hudson to the Statue of Liberty are epic. Great place to start a night out in the meatpacking district.

i had the ribeye here last time i was in ny. It was the size of the brontosaurus burger from the Flintstones lying on a bed of frys. Not normally what i'm looking for but it really did me right. They don't pour wine by the glass here instead they only do half bottles. Very boutique collection of i had the ribeye here last time i was in ny. Also, i found the prices to be VERY reasonable for any steakhouse let alone a NYC steakhouse.

Great little atmospheric local spot in the West Village. Great food, but well worth it even if you want to pop in for a drink. Then walk over to Fedora.

Gansevoort is good and convenient to other places in the Meatpacking district, but I prefer the top of the Standard because the view is tough to beat.

The epitome of luxury hotels. If money was no object, this is where I would stay every time I visited New York. In fact, I'd live here. Perfectly appointed rooms, flawless service.

Nicest spa in the city. Always ranks as one of tops in the world. Although it's kind of small and pricey... typical NYC i guess. The hotel has a cool lounge in the lobby which is like 40th floor and overlooks Central Park South. Nice view and worth a stop if you're near Columbus Circle.
