A natural geyser, Geysir hasn't had much activity for awhile and has been known to stop for years at a time. This one is an old-pro though and is said to have been erupting for oh, just 10,000 years. Seems to be pretty good at preserving its energy for "just the right moment" to surprise.

This spot has everything you want to get inspired. Apparently there are single AND double rainbows throughout the day due to the spray of the waterfall. It is also said that a Viking explorer buried a treasure somewhere behind the waterfall.
Figuring out how to pronounce this would take longer than the time it took to form! If you happen to be in the area you can take a helicopter tour of this particular volcano.
A friend of mine went here on his honeymoon and raved about the geology. Iceland has lots of active volcanoes and beautiful topography, lots of lava fields! The country is also the most sparsely populated country in Europe!
