Just a suggestion--this is a lot to cover in one day. The Tuileries won't take as long as something like the Catacombes or Pere-Lachaise and are right across the river. You might want to consider doing those in the same day.
The decor of l'Ami is cartoons so if you're planning a romantic evening this might not be the place. That's said, there's a been a lot of buzz about this place lately and the food gets high marks.
we sat for a long time on the spanish steps and just watched people going by. this was actually one of the most crowded cities Ive ever been too...i was a little shocked when I got off the train but you get used to it quickly! Beautiful city and definitely worth seeing! amazing experience.
