Apparently this was formed about 1900 years ago.

This is actually the most visited volcano in the world. Not surprising given its beauty. The word Kīlauea means "spreading" in Hawaiian.

Figuring out how to pronounce this would take longer than the time it took to form! If you happen to be in the area you can take a helicopter tour of this particular volcano.

Sadly, this volcano caused a lot of damage and even deaths when it erupted in 1991. Interestingly it's last major eruption before that was in the 1300s.

If you're old enough to remember the eruption at Mt. St. Helen's in 1980, you know it caused considerable damage. Sadly 57 people died.

Apparently the volcanic soil here supports vineyards at the mountain's base.

OK, not necessarily an official spa, but a great place to "take the waters". It's also a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Hot springs, travertines and European speedos. Not saying anything else.
