I am dying to try La Jarochita's Veracruz-style tamales. They're made in banana leaves and Mexican flat breads. I'm drooling just thinking about it.

Wrigley has been the home to the Chicago Cubs since 1916. This place is built on tradition. When I'm here I always go traditional with a Ball Park Frank, Chicago style.

No Minnesota summer is complete without a visit to the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. Great place to bring the family on a beautiful afternoon. The art is really cool. Plus, it's home to the iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry.

Still don't get the big cherry but the arboretum is wonderful.

Old Orchard can be crowded but not without reason. There are lots of cool, old buildings with shops and great food along the beach.

My family and I go to the Minnesota State Fair every day it's open. There is so much to do, we take a different walking path everyday. I crave Carl's Gizmo sandwich year round.

Not only do I like the name, Bald Head Island is a beautiful spot for a summer vacation. The island has 14 miles of beach to explore.

In the Land of 10,000 Lakes, these are my favorite. Clear waters, great for swimming on a hot day or fishing with my son.

One of my favorite summer road trips is to head up North from the Twin Cities to the North Shore. A very scenic drive with lots of cool stops along the way.

I first tried Buttermilk on Appetite for Life. They serve up a variety of delicious breakfast dishes. Might I recommend the red velvet pancakes?

Free wifi. Nice! I didn't know that. As a dodger fan it's hard for me to admit that it's one of the best ballparks in the country. I'd say top two... Target Field in MN is pretty great too.

Such a beautiful park located right on San Francisco Bay. I always want to watch a homer fly into the water. If you’re here you’ve got to try the Gilroy Garlic Fries. There is nothing like them anywhere else. Warning: they've got some kick!

Yes, you can find gourmet food from a truck. Odd Duck is proof. Owned & operated by the same folks at Barley Swine, this might be my favorite food truck in the country. I loved their goat-cheese cheese grits with duck egg, venison sausage and mushrooms.

One of my favorite ballparks in the country. The lights, the Green Monster, it's just fantastic. Before the game, I try to stop by the vendors on Lansdowne Street for an Italian sausage. They're made on flat griddles and loaded with onions, peppers and tasty sauces.

Every time I'm here I have to get the green papaya salad with sticky rice. It's so good.

Chef Shack is just one of the Twin Cities great food trucks. I love their heirloom tomato and watermelon gazpacho so much I even special ordered some to serve at my birthday party last year.

One of my favorite summer spots. Sorry to see much of it has been eroded by Hurricane Irene. If you get a chance, try to stop by this great beach.

I'm a sports geek, so I was thrilled when my home team got a new stadium. It's one of the best in the country.When I go to a game I always head to the Kramarczuk's stand for one of their fantastic sausages.
