My favorite hours to be here are between 10 PM and 8 AM, when all the stores are closed, all the people are gone, and I practically have the place to myself. I love taking late night walks here with friends and if I wake up early enough, running along the pier to see the water and sea lions.
I was just here a few months ago and lucked out because there was a terrific arts festival tucked into the woods. You can imagine the combination of clean air, majestic trees and crazed children with painted faces darting around you as a magician keeps everyone occupied. And let's just say the fun is amplified if two of those kids are your wild, incredibly cute 4 year-old nieces.…see moresee less
Somehow every time I've made this drive I've screwed up and ended up driving at night...and yet somehow it was still stunning. Not a ton of diversity in it (not like you'll be going through lots of towns or residential areas), but it's still gorgeous.
This is part of the famed Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim hike. While it may be the Grandaddy of hikes, it's not for everyone--the Canyon can be relatively punishing so just make sure you're prepared.
Sri Lanka's highlands are situated in the south-central part of the island. The property comprises the Peak Wilderness Protected Area, the Horton Plains National Park and the Knuckles Conservation Forest. One of 8 World Heritage Sites in Sri Lanka!
Went on this when the line was still hours long...it should be more reasonable now but it is definitely worth the wait. Just be careful if you easily get motion sick, the combo of 3-D and motion ride may not be your favorite.
I think you want to hit this one early (and get another Fast Pass once you get out). Ava and I rode it separately on the same day, but both had the same "variation" of the ride, so ask someone at the ride if they change it daily, or if you can get different sequences on the same day.
I'm not sure how many variations there are for the new ride, but I rode the one with Hoth and Naboo. The new visuals were really cool, but the 3D effect didn't seem very immersive, however, I'm not sure if that was because I was sitting in the very first row all the way to the left because I'm not sure how many variations there are for the new ride, but I rode the one with Hoth and Naboo. The new visuals were really cool, but the 3D effect didn't seem very immersive, however, I'm not sure if that was because I was sitting in the very first row all the way to the left because everyone else seemed to be oohing and aahing over the parts where something was supposed to be hovering right in front of you. I also tend to get a little nauseous on the rides where the movie doesn't perfectly match up with the motion, so that was kind of a bummer. With all that said, I'll definitely give it another go.…see moresee less
I'd recommend this over the Santa Monica Pier since it's probably going to be freezing and cloudy at this time of year. At the end of 3rd St. is the newly renovated open-air mall which is quite gorgeous and has a very nice food court with fancy schmancy restaurants at the top level. The lion's feet at the bottom of this are amazing! Would love to also see the frescoes here as well. Also would love to see the rock that's polished so well legend has it you can see your face in it.
