We were there on a rainy day. The mountain water was very cold. Really cool restaurant in a random location. Nice to combine with a trip up-country to the winery. The woman who runs the place is a legend in fresh to table cuisine. Expensive, but very good.

You might actually run into a barracuda here so be on your toes...or fins as it were. Luckily you may also see dolphin.

If you have a connection take the west wing tour. Its a really exclusive tour. Need to plan in advance as they need a background check for that one.

I loved this hike, you and Story could do this hike pretty fast though, if you just do the first half and stop at the beach. To continue on, would add another hour to your hike, but then you see the waterfall, which was pretty magical. Otherwise an 1:15 there and same back. the most recommended trail on the island. it's extremely popular though, so expect crowds. it will take most of the day.

Thanks JR. We are staying in Hermosa Beach, so we'll make sure to check those two spots out. I've got my fingers crossed for nice weather so we can enjoy the beach.

If you make it down to hermosa and the weather is nice, I'd say rent a beach cruiser and take a cruise up the Strand. Stop for a drink along the way Poop Deck (old school dive bar) in Hermosa, Simmzys (gastro pub) in Manhattan Beach are two strong choices. I'll add those too so you have them. An easy day trip from Florence and well worth it. It's a beautiful hill town about an hour away.
